Hannah “The Tiny Human Wrangler” White

Hannah White is one of the most dedicated leaders at UpStreet Sidewalk Sunday School, where Saturdays are all about spreading faith, fun, and love. Known for her ability to keep up with energetic kids (with coffee in hand, of course), Hannah’s mission is to make every child feel seen, loved, and valued—while gently reminding them that God’s love is always with them.

Though Hannah might initially be a bit shy (you might catch her quietly observing the chaos before diving in), she soon becomes the heartbeat of the group, offering gentle guidance and encouragement with a big heart and a bigger smile. In fact, we like to joke that Hannah’s shyness is just her superpower in disguise—after all, she can keep an entire group of kids engaged without even raising her voice!

By day, Hannah steps into her role as a first-grade teacher at Whitehall Elementary, where she helps tiny humans tackle reading, math, and some of life’s tougher questions—like, “Why do we have to do homework?” Her knack for connecting with kids in a lighthearted and approachable way makes her a natural at both teaching and leading on the sidewalk.

Her love for her school kids is what first led her to get involved with Sidewalk Sunday School, where she brings the same energy, care, and love to the community. In addition to her teaching role, she heads up our Project 3 Program and leads a group of high school girls at NewSpring, helping them navigate the challenges of life and faith. Her quiet yet steady leadership is a perfect fit for guiding others as they grow in their faith.

When she’s not wrangling tiny humans or leading her team, you can find Hannah binge-watching her favorite shows, conquering new fitness goals (in her own quiet, determined way), or attempting to get her energetic pup to relax—spoiler alert: it never works. She’s also known for her ability to quietly blend in at social gatherings, all the while making deep connections with others without ever having to be the loudest one in the room.

Hannah’s goal? To create a space where kids can embrace their individuality, develop a love for learning, and feel the warmth of God’s presence—whether she’s leading engaging activities, encouraging personal growth, or providing a listening ear. At Sidewalk Sunday School, she’s not just wrangling tiny humans; she’s raising up a generation of big dreamers with even bigger hearts—and all while keeping a cool, calm, and collected demeanor (most of the time).
